On Thursday, April 20, 2017, Sue Carney, APWU National Human Relations Director will present OWCP Injury Compensation Training.
Mishandled workplace injuries can harm members and their families.
When medical recovery and return to work efforts are delayed or denied they are also costly to locals.
Every APWU organization should have trained representatives who know how to navigate the OWCP processes, and who are able to identify and effectively grieve employer violations.
Stewards should be able to counsel injured members regarding their rights, benefits and responsibilities.
This class is suited for everyone– members and stewards with no Federal Employee Compensation Act experience, intermittently skilled officers looking to improve their abilities, and advanced representatives who want to brush up on their skills.
